Novel Guests for Cucurbiturils and Cyclodextrins Based on Bisimidazolium Salts with Biphenyl Centerpiece
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In recent years, supramolecular host-guest systems where adamantane derivatives are used as building units or as additives for the aggregation process regulation have been extensively studied. According to the previously published procedure, we preparednovel series of bisimidazolium salts with 4,4?-disubstituted biphenyl centerpiece (BIMB) as a part of our ongoing research work. Further, we studied binding properties of prepared guests towards cucurbit[n]urils (CBn) and cyclodextrins in water solutionas well as in the gas phase. The presence of different binding sites, including the adamantane site with ultrahigh affinity towards CB7, in one guest molecule allowed formation of diverse types of supramolecular host-guest systems depending on the cavitynature and/or concentration and particular guest structure. A suggestion of binding modes of dibutyl BIMB and CB7 based on 1H NMR data is showed in Fig. 1.
