The economic crisis in 2008 and its development in the following period have deepened the importance of the factors which shape supply and demand within the labour market. The quantification of these factors is very complex and it may look as merely an abstract impression. These factors include a student's career aspiration which may be an important force in shaping job supply. This may be one of the causes for the deepening structural problems in the labour market. This research was conducted by the Faculty of Management and Economics at the Thomas Bata University in Zlín (TBU FaME) in 2011. The survey was targeted at Czech secondary schools. The reason for this research is mainly because the Czech labour market in recent years has been more and moreconfronted with the problems of structural unemployment and a rise in the number of unemployed secondary school graduates.
