Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The article deepens the understanding of strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of excessive rural tourism by examining legislative measures available to local governments in the Czech Republic, with a focus on the Pálava tourist region. Initial research conducted in 2021 assessed the perceptions of tourism among residents of Dolní Věstonice. A follow-up survey in 2024 evaluated the effectiveness of the measures implemented, based on residents' perceptions, and analyzed their impact on short-term accommodation businesses in the village. The qualitative research was based on primary data collected through questionnaires. The 2021 survey results indicated a notable decline in residents' quality of life. In response, changes to the village's zoning plan were proposed and enacted, limiting the expansion of accommodation capacities in specific areas. Additionally, providers of short-term accommodations were required to secure on-site parking spaces, and an increase in property tax rates for recreational properties was suggested. The 2024 survey results showed that 75% of respondents perceived a calmer and improved situation, with tourism no longer viewed as negatively as in 2021. Most respondents attributed these improvements to the implemented measures. Feedback from business owners indicated that the zoning plan changes did not impact bed occupancy rates, though shifts in client preferences were observed.
