The fifth annual international conference on Anglophone studies, From Theory to Practice 2013, was held on September 5-6 by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The 70+ participants, representing 8 countries, presented papers and held discussions in sections on Linguistics, Literature, Translation, Cultural Studies and English as a Lingua Franca. The keynote speeches were delivered by Thomas Lorman from University College London and Christiane Nord of theUniversity of Vienna. Matthew Biberman from the University of Louisville gave the plenary speech. The conference helped to establish new forms of cooperation between the participating universities and to the development and internationalization of the organizing institution.
