Burnout syndrome is a state of emotional, mental and physical exhaustion caused by situations affecting an individual in the long-term, which are extremely difficult and demanding. this study focuses on the social structure of the key causes of burnout syndrome in the context of social work. The aim is to establish the burnout syndrome measure from the aspect of the physical, emotional and mental exhaustion of social workers at facilities providing social services. It focuses on social workers working for public and private providers of social services at selected facilities in the Košice and Prešov regions. The research focuses on answering key research question using quantitative research methods. In support of theoretical outputs we submit the results of research focusing on establishing the measure fo burnout syndrome in social workers in the form of the standardised questionnaire titled BM Burnout Measure A. Pineas and E. Aronson.
