Ghost Nets - Environmental Side Effects of Fishing. Systematic Literature Review.
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Individual publications are assessed based on their content into (i) informational content only, (ii) content addressing the impact of ALDFG on marine fauna and ecosystems, (iii) content addressing ghost net detection methods, (iv) content addressing recommended measures or new technologies to limit the spread of ALDFG, and (v) studies addressing general anthropogenic marine waste including ALDFG. A thematic map has been created to visualize how to address this issue globally spatially. The project will be complemented by monitoring the marine ecosystem's state in selected sites by observation using diving equipment. If the impacts of ALDFG are ignored, increasing anthropogenic interference may exceed the sustainable limit in the delicate balance of the marine ecosystem, which, in the final stage, will have a significantly negative impact on the consumers themselves, international trade, and the state of the economy, not only of developing countries. Therefore, the conclusion will assess the gaps in current knowledge and propose measures to minimize ghost networks' presence and environmental impacts in the seas.
