Spa and natural curative resources are used for their positive health effects from time immemorial. Czech and Slovak spa have great prestige in the world thanks to their continuous development. The aim of the paper is to analyse the visitor numbers of spa guests in Carlsbad, comparison with competing bath. The paper deals with the conditions for the development of the spa in Carlsbad, the visitor numbers to the spa Carlsbad in the years 2001 to 2012 and comparison with the visitor numbers of Slovak spa Piešťany.
