INDOOR NAVIGATION MOBILE APPLICATION IN THE COLLEGE BUILDINGTHE BUILDING
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The popularity of mobile applications have been increasing in recent years and they have found their use in a number of everyday activities. One of them is indoor navigation (navigation inside buildings). The indoor navigation finds application in schools, universities, hospitals etc., where the complex of buildings is extensive and complicated to navigate. Several implementation solutions of navigation using mobile operating system features and additional sensors were introduced in several works. Additional sensors are costly and difficult to deploy in the initial phase. In this paper, we present a mobile application designed for navigation in the building of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava (COPJ). The application was designed primarily for the navigation during the open days and for the navigation to a significant room (classroom or laboratory) from the college entrance, especially for the first-time visitors or new students. The navigation algorithm uses a static schema containing fixed predefined paths without current location. Although this implementation does not use actual position, it is very simple and efficient for the presented situations. We also refer to the future use of the current solution in teaching the subjects Programming for Mobile Platforms and Advanced Programming Techniques.
