The tool is designed to discover the meaning of a historical source by uncovering a mind map. The tool can also create such a mind map within an e-activity builder of Historiana.eu online learning tool. It is connected to the infrastructure of Historiana.eu online learning environment through REST API. The tool enables two user modes: a teacher mode and a student mode. The teacher mode which enables rteaachers to create and/or adapt mind maps and their mode of discovering, and a student modex. In the student mode, the main task of the user is to go through the map via step-by-step functionality to better understand complex relations of discussed topic while not being overwhelmed by the amount of information. The component has been developed in Vue.js.

Technické parametry

The discovering tool is built in VueJs, while the connection to the to the infrastructure of Historiana.eu online learning environment through REST API. The design of the tool is based on a design specification that describes all the elements and features of the tool in both the teacher and student mode. The main elements include canvas, node and its states, line and a context menu. The development of the tool included four rounds of UX testing, two rounds with the target group: history teachers.
