Transformations of the Prague urban landscape with in the urbanization process in the period from the Baroque and the Enlightenment

Anotace anglicky

Prague of the Baroque period and the immediately following years, ie in the period defined as the years 1650–1800, underwent fundamental changes not only due to the emergence of a number of high-quality buildings (especially after 1690), but also at the urban level. The way of using the area and the height level of the development changed, and the immediate surroundings of the city also underwent a change. The "image" of Prague's historical districts (Old Town, Lesser Town and Hradčany) as basically a Baroque city has, on the one hand, been imprinted in the public consciousness, on the other hand, this "image" is misleading in many respects. The aim of the project is in accordance with the program goal of NAKI III to contribute to the fact that public funds invested in applied research in the field of national and cultural identity bring concrete social outcomes and implementations, in this case according to thematic priority 2. At the same time the project will present documentation of the Prague agglomeration in connection with thematic priority No. 5 of national and cultural identity in the maintenance and development of historical and cultural consciousness. The main goal of the project is to present the changes in the "urban landscape" of Prague's historic cities in the period from the Baroque and the Enlightenment on the example of selected areas and buildings, in the form of specialized databases, exhibitions, interactive maps, audiovisual works and specialized studies and lectures.
