Reciprocal Translocation t(4;7)(q14;q28) in Cattle: Molecular Characterization
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Cytogenetic analysis of a phenotypically normal young bull from Marchigiana breed revealed the presence of an abnormal karyotype. The presence of one oversize chromosome in all metaphases, suggested the presence of a reciprocal translocation. RBG-bandingand FISH analyses, using several cattle specific BACs, confirmed this hypothesis revealing the presence of a (4;7) reciprocal translocation. In addition the presence of rcp(4;7) was confirmed by FISH experiments using BTA4 end BTA7 whole chromosome probes. Both parents were investigated and they showed a normal karyotype. Moreover we established that the rcp is balanced, as any loss or gain of genetic materials was observed in proximity of BTA4 and BTA7 break points. We performed this analysis using acattle genome specific CGH array (in this array 244K probes are scattered over all autosomes and X chromosome). To our knowledge this is the first time in which the balanced condition of a cattle rcp is ascertained using a CGH array appro
