Applied Sign Linguistics Symposium, Sign Language Teaching and Learning
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Presented here is a didactic, captioned foreign language programme for special schools, created on the basis of videorecording of the three-day-long international symposium, which was for the first time devoted uniquely to teaching and learning various sign languages. One of the key symposium arguments was that recent developments in sign linguistics research have influenced the decisions made regarding integration of specific methods, curricula and teaching materials for learning and teaching sign languages. This symposium was organized in September 2009 by the Centre for Deaf Studies at the University of Bristol. Seminar and Symposium language of instruction was either British Sign Language or live English. Each recorded lecture is introduced by a written abstract and professional bio of the lecturer in the form of recorded subtitles. This subtitled video programme will soon be distributed, as an instructional teacher-training material, to all Czech special schools.
