Hip-hop et reggae : Unité dans l'usage des anglicismes et des jama?canismes, diversité de leur réalisation phonétique

Cet article décrit la présence des emprunts lexicaux dans la musique rap et reggae, avec une attention particuli?re a leur prononciation. Premi?rement, un corpus de 200 chansons françaises et tch?ques est analysé pour établir une liste des anglicismes, jama?canismes et autres emprunts absents du Petit Robert 2012. Ces néologismes sont ensuite montrés sur un schéma concentrique entre le centre et la périphérie. Deuxi?mement, la distribution de certains segments (les affriquées, demi-consonnes et rhotiques) est expliquée a la lumi?re du contraste entre les inventaires phonétiques des langues impliquées. Les emprunts du corpus ne font pas preuve de pattern chronologique, et leur distance des vocabulaires natifs du français et du tch?que ne correspond pasaux tendances dans leur prononciation artistique. De ce fait, la grande variation dans la réalisation phonétique des emprunts est attribuée a la stylisation musicale et a leur lien vis-a-vis des parlers rap/reggae.

This paper investigates the presence of loanwords in rap and reggae music, with a focus on their pronunciation. First, a corpus of 200 French and Czech songs is explored in search of numerous anglicisms, jamaicanisms and other lexical borrowings not listed in the dictionary Petit Robert 2012. We show that these neologisms are positioned in a cen- ter/periphery concentric scheme. Furthermore, by contrasting the phonemic inventories of the languages from a violable constraints perspective, the distribution of certain segments (a=ricates, glides, rhotic consonants) is shown in more detail. Interestingly, the loanwords do not seem to follow any diachronic pattern, and their distance from native vocabularies of French and Czech is not mirrored in the artists' phonetic realisation. As a result, the great vari- ation encountered is attributed to the musical stylisation, and the a;liation of the loanwords to the hip-hop and reggae sociolects.
