Our chapter illuminates various vectors how ska and reggae music and culture and their various spin-offs were adopted in state socialist Czechoslovakia&apos;s popular culture as well as by local subcultures. Even if this part of the world historically had very few cultural links with the Atlantic space, the seeds of reggae in the local popular music scene were planted already in the late 1960s.
