Der Beitrag fragt nach der Übersetzungstätigkeit der (meist jüdischen) Autoren der Prager deutschen Literatur. Während sie oft als "Brückenbau" konzeptualisiert worden ist, sah sie Scott Spector als Begründung einer aus rein egoistischen Gründen erschriebenen eigenen "middle nation" woraufhin Hillel J. Kieval sie noch einmal als "cultural mediation" verstanden und Steffen Höhne gar von einem "Neobohemismus" gesprochen hat. Der Artikel endet mit der Diagnose der Unangemessenheit all dieser Konzeptualisierungen und plädiert für ein grundlegend komplexeres Verständnis von Übersetzung in der Interkulturalität Mitteleuropas im frühen 20. Jahrhundert.

The article asks about the translation activity of the (mostly Jewish) authors of Prague's German literature. While she has often been conceptualized as a "bridge building", Scott Spector saw it as a purely egoistic foundation of a "middle nation", inhabited only by themselves, while Hillel J. Kieval once again understood it as a "cultural mediation" and Steffen Höhne has spoken even of a "Neo-bohemism". The article concludes with the diagnosis of the inadequacy of all this conceptualizations and advocates for a more complex understanding of translation in the interculturality of Central Europe in the early 20th century.
