The concept of discourse, known as &quot;discourse theory&quot;, is briefly described. It is shown how this concept is interconnected with knowledge and power. It is argued that despite of challenging much of objective knowledge and truth, objectivity and reality itself are not denied. Presented is both the influence of the concepts and the critique of Foucault in terms of the originality and truisms.
