During the last decade we were witnessing the rise of automated journalism and application of artificial intelligence tools in the newsrooms. From simple use of templates to highly sophisticated automated content production, omnipresent algorithms, news on social networks, fake news production and its detection became our everyday media practice. AI has slowly but unstoppably entered the media landscape. The rise of AI brought wide scale of problems and questions. Organizers call for proposal addressing, but not limited, to following themes. The international conference CHALLENGES OF JOURNALISM IN 21 ST CENTURY - AUTOMATED JOURNALISM AND AI JOURNALISM, was organized by the Center for Artificial Intelligence Journalism, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, September 24, 2020. The conference was opened by the chairman of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic prof. Petr Konvalinka and the Dean of FSV UK A. N. Tejkalová. Due to the epidemiological situation, the conference was held online and was available on the website and on Youtube channel. Leading experts in artificial intelligence and journalism presented their results at this conference (eg. prof. Neil Thurman or prof. Charlie Beckett).
