An important part of the professional and personal development of a modern teacher in the21st century must be the building of his/her own social capital - so-called life skills, with anemphasis on the use of mindfulness techniques and the promotion of self-efficacy.In the context of new social trends and an increase in challenging life events, taking intoaccount the long-term pandemic situation and changes in the labor market, it is necessary tomodify the objectives and contents of pre-graduate teacher training and subsequent lifelonglearning courses in favor of promoting basic life skills. These must occupy a key position inthe structure of the professional and personal competencies of today's teachers, because onlythen can such teachers lead the educational process at all levels of education adequately andeffectively.The work focuses on the integration of basic life skills into the complex system ofcompetencies of teaching staff (with an overlap to other professions) and presents selectedtechniques that can be used in teachers' education.
