A Rack for Memories. Between Theory and Praxis, the Real and the Digital
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This chapter describes the starting points, duration and results of the pilot year of the course entitled The Contexts of Art, taught at the Department of Art Education at the Pedagogical Faculty, Charles University, and oriented towards visual production by art education candidates embedded within the context of contemporary art. The course was taught in the summer semester of the academic year 2021/22 by lecturers Vendula Fremlová (curator of contemporary art) and Michal Sedlák (sculptor). The topic of this year's course was the duality of the digital and real worlds, demonstrated by means of the visual depiction of memories and sharing it online through social media. The article interprets selected works of art that emerged during the course, as well as the final exhibition that offered a comprehensive presentation of the students' works and establishes a connection between these interpretations and selected observations and theoretical studies from art theory, visual studies, social psychology, sociology, as well as the theories of communication and online interaction, primarily Goffman's performance metaphor and Hogan's exhibition metaphor.
