The Influence of Movement in Music Education: The Role of Movement in Singing Children's Songs

  • Popis výsledku v původním jazyce

Incorporating movement into music education improves children's musical expression, engagement and cognitive development. Particularly in early childhood, movement activities deepen understanding of musical concepts while promoting cooperation and emotional expression. Research emphasizes that rhythmic movement promotes motor skills, memory retention, and self-regulation - all of which are essential for musical participation. Games with singing and movement offer multisensory experiences that develop auditory attention, coordination and social skills. Children's songs are a versatile tool to promote creativity and musical understanding. By integrating singing, movement and dramatization, children engage more deeply and develop lasting connections with music and the arts. Since rhythm is deeply connected to musical expression, movements should match the meaning and emotion of the song. Despite the benefits of applying movement in music education, educators face challenges in consistently implementing movement-based strategies due to limited resources and training. Addressing these challenges requires targeted support and curriculum development.
