The contribution is based on a research in counsellors education and training in the Czech Republic. The first stage of the research was based on surveying existing offers. This was done in three ways: via a survey of public sources (e.g. the Internet, the press), questionnaires, interviews. We analysed educational offers from the point of view of contents, the structure of the team of lecturers, methods and forms of teaching in the second stage of the research. Tasks and challenges within the educationof counsellors are derived from the characteristics of specific educational offers and, at the same time, put into a broader context of the developments of counselling in the Czech Republic. The conclusions are to be understood as recommendations, whichtry to contribute to the enhancement of counsellors preparation in the field of career counselling.
