The paper reflects the data transformation workflows and processes connected with digital historical research. The background of the reflection is the notion of epistemic cultures and the necessity of close inter-expertise dialog over the research process between various experts involved. In the foreground the paper talk about the advantages and perils of the iterative switching between modeling the source and modeling the problem perspectives.
