Creative Language Learning: Rules of Serious Play
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
An accelerating pace of innovations in language learning of recent years is fascinating. Nevertheless, new perspectives on individual learning styles, teaching strategies, materials development and multimedia use associated with the innovations have brought the necessity to ask questions such as: Do we design materials that suit diverse and multifarious needs of individual students? Do we use multimedia and ICT that improve language learning processes? Do we teach skills that help study, work and communicate successfully in the constantly changing world of science and research? This paper shares experience with the implementation of creative, collaborative and community-of-practice based approach to university language courses. It presents creativity (K. Robinson, J.P.Gilford, E. de Bono) as an integral part of the language learning process and addresses questions such as creative situations, creative personality and creativity barriers.
