This article describes present university activities of students, how they are involved into a research in aircraft design and their additional education by experience during their participation in projects at the Institute of Aerospace Engineering FME BUT. This article properly corresponds to aims of the Research and Education in Aircraft Design conference. Student internships and collaboration on projects belong to new trends of modern universities and it is very beneficial for both sides. An overview of current student participations in a testing of space devices and finite element analyses of composite materials are presented in this article as well as research topics of Erasmus+ students during their training mobilities, a development of UAVs and successful engagement in international student aviation competitions.
