This paper discusses features of images, which are important for data operation (sorting, filtering and retrieval in particular). The retrieval we can see as a classification, according to the features. An importance of the features for image retrieval is shown here. Manners of the features description are discussed here. A set of the features, important for retrieval, depends on requests of an application. The importances of features for history of art are presented here.
