Effect of sample surface treatment on Laser Ablation
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Nowadays there has been great interest in the possibility of performing semi-destructive analysis, using methods based on laser ablation, such as Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) or Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS). The laser-matter interaction at the surface plays a key role during single pulse analysis when influencing the performances of analytical methods based on laser ablation. In this work, the effect of the surface has been investigated from two different points of view; one related to the intrinsic roughness of the surface after sample grinding and another one related to the effect of the deposition of AuNPs on the surface. In both the cases, the effect of the surface on the laser ablation features in LIBS and LA-ICP-MS is discussed to point out some perspectives and limitations of surface manipulation and sample treatment. Firstly, the effect of the surface topography on laser ablation was studied on aluminium alloy and glass standard [1]. Se
