The paper is devoted an example of tourism in the Czech Republic. Second largest city Brno uses very successful marketing activities. The idea of local development issues from experiences and results obtained in previous international project Communicating Town in the second half of the 90´s. The whole Brno region is famous because of wine, but also is typical and well known for its beer and beer culture. The main representative is the brewery Starobrno, Although it belongs to one of the largest brewing groups – Heineken – the brewery is still trying to preserve the traditional elements of the production processes, uses Czech hops and barley from local south Moravian producers for brewing its beer. Starobrno and its products cannot be considered as the main attractions of the region, but it play its role in co-creating the attractiveness and identity of the region.
