Quality, especially the dual quality of food products, is a source of consumer concern and a loss of consumer confidence in the single market. The issue of the dual quality of some products marketed under the same brand or trademark but with different content, composition or quality in EU Member States is still a hot topic of discussion and research. Ensuring food safety and quality in the EU is an extremely complex legal and implementation issue. The article follows up on the author's contribution from the International Conference on European Integration 2018 entitled "Consumers in the European Union and the dual quality of food" and evaluates the changes that have taken place since its publication.
