Comparative studies of annual legumes
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
In the period 2013/2014 a comparative study of Czech species of annual legumes was conducted in order to assess their adaptability, productivity and quality of forage under conditions of the Central Northern Bulgaria. Five species of forage crops and the respective cultivars were observed: Trifolium alexandrinum L. (Faraon), Trifolium incarnatum L. (Kardinal), Lotus ornithopoides L. (Junak), Medicago lupulina L. (Ekola) и Melilotus albus L. (Adela). White melilot is characterized with the best plasticity and adaptability to the region. This is the most early-ripening species. It exceeded all species included in the study according to green matter yield and dry matter (29.7 and 7.3 t.ha-1). The biomass of crimson clover had the highest content of crude protein (15.24%) and the lowest of crude fiber (21.69%). The relatively low values of structural fiber components in cell walls (NDF - 31.16%, ADF - 20.81% and ADL - 3.08%), as well as the increased content of polysacharide – hemicellulose (10.35%), determined the high quality and forage digestibility. Species, such as Trifolium incarnatum L., Medicago lupulina L. and Melilotus albus L, had the highest values for feed unit for milk and growth (FUM – 0.69/kg DM and FUG – 0.63/kg DM), a prerequisite for good fodder intake and satisfying the need for animal feed.
