Der internationale Workshop ?Identität und Funktionalität. Stellung und Gebrauch der deutschen Sprache in den böhmischen Ländern vom Ende der Habsburgermonarchie bis zur Gegenwart? fand am 7. Oktober 2025 statt. An der Veranstaltung waren das Historische Institut, das Institut für Slawisch-Germanische Studien und das Institut für Germanistik sowie Prof. Dr. Thomas Wünsch (Lehrstuhl für Neuere und Neueste Geschichte Osteuropas und seiner Kulturen, Philosophische Fakultät) und Prof. Dr. Julia Ricart Brede (Lehrstuhl für Deutsch als Zweitsprache / Deutsch als Fremdsprache, Philosophische Fakultät, Universität Passau) beteiligt. Aus den Verhandlungen ging der Vorschlag hervor, eine internationale Konferenz zum Thema &quot;Deutsch-tschechische Mehrsprachigkeit im historischen Wandel&quot; vorzubereiten, die im Jahr 2026 an der Philosophischen Fakultät der UJEP stattfinden soll. Es sollen folgende Panels organisiert werden: Deutsch-tschechische Mehrsprachigkeit in Bildungsinstitutionen; Deutsch-tschechische Mehrsprachigkeit in der Literatur; Deutsch-tschechische Mehrsprachigkeit im öffentlichen Raum; Deutsch-tschechische Mehrsprachigkeit in der Politik.

The international workshop &quot;Identität und Funktionalität. Stellung und Gebrauch der deutschen Sprache in den böhmischen Ländern vom Ende der Habsburgermonarchie bis zur Gegenwart&quot; (Identity and Functionality. Position and Use of the German Language in the Bohemian Lands from the End of the Habsburg Monarchy to the Present) took place on October 7, 2025. The event involved the Department of History, the Institute of Slavonic-Germanic Studies, and the Department of German Studies, as well as Prof. Dr. Thomas Wünsch (Chair of Modern and Contemporary History of Eastern Europe and its Cultures, Faculty of Philosophy) and Prof. Dr. Julia Ricart Brede (Chair of German as a Second Language / German as a Foreign Language, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Passau). The discussions resulted in a proposal to prepare an international conference titled &quot;Deutsch-tschechische Mehrsprachigkeit im historischen Wandel&quot; (German-Czech Multilingualism in Historical Change), which is scheduled to take place at the Faculty of Arts, UJEP in 2026. The following panels will be organized: German-Czech Multilingualism in Educational Institutions; German-Czech Multilingualism in Literature; German-Czech Multilingualism in the Public Sphere; German-Czech Multilingualism in Politics.
