The paper concludes an initial phase of a comparative study of the different arrangements of teacher trainees? practice at schools of education on tertiary level in different countries of Europe including the Czech Republic and the USA. It offers view onseveral areas: overall length of practice, timing of the practice within study programs, clinical school phenomenon, supervision, service for students, and the ways of assessment. The Czech teacher trainees? practice system status quo has been comparedwith several specific examples of good practice abroad in order to present potential effectiveness of similar comparative researches for better development in this domain.
