Use of the peer instruction method in blended learning
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Pandemic leads teachers at all levels of schools to seek and use methods that can help make long-term distance learning more attractive and more effective. One of the methods that can be used well in the conditions of online teaching is the Peer Instruction method. Most of the online communication platforms through which the teaching is conducted provide the appropriate tools for this. It includes, for example, the possibility of voting, which is an integral part of this method, as well as the creation of breakout rooms where students can communicate in separate groups. In this paper, the experience with the use of the Peer Instruction method in teaching of several courses for bachelor students at the Faculty of Science at Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem, is presented. Besides that, the possibilities of use and appropriate inclusion of the Peer Instruction method within flipped learning are discussed.
