FROM DYNAMIC MODELS OF BUSES TO RELIABLE PREDICTION OF THE FATIGUE LIFE OF THEIR BODYWORKS
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
When developing new vehicles as buses, trolleybuses and battery-powered electric buses, the prescribed fatigue criteria must be met in all important structural nodes of the vehicle bodywork. Maximum stress amplitudes (or stress ranges) must be lower than permissible values when the vehicle crosses significant road unevenness. In case the prescribed condition is not fulfilled, it is necessary to recommend a modification of the vehicle bodywork. It means to use sufficiently strength structural nodes. It is necessary to know the fatigue properties for various structural and technological variants of the bodywork sections. These properties can be determined in advance by laboratory fatigue tests. The paper describes an interesting case study of the assessment of fatigue life a trolleybus bodywork in design phase of vehicle development.
