Constitutions of the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea are the supreme legislation of both countries. In spite of the fact that both countries are situated on different continents, are thousands of kilometres far away, have different historical, cultural and legal roots, it is possible to specify some common legal principles in their Constitutions. Both countries are democratic republics; they have at their disposal bills of human rights followed by mechanisms of constitutional jurisdiction in many aspects. The article includes the specification of some common principles of the structure of Constitutional Courts of both countries, comparison of competences of both Constitutional Courts and some important decisions of both Constitutional Courts,which concerned preservation of democracy.
