Application of Vernier System in Practical Chemistry Teaching

The paper informs about possibilities of using the Vernier system in chemistry teaching at primary and secondary schools. The authors present a basic set for chemistry teaching and also suggestions for tasks suitable for younger as well as older pupils.They analyse in detail the workshop whose topis was solutions and their properties. The tasks are describes concerning preparation and composition of solutions, their density, acid-base properties and electric conductivity. In presented examples the combination of experiments supported by the Vernier system and traditional laboratory methods and procedures is demonstrated. Teaching experiments with pH and conductivity sensors are briefly introdused too. In conclusion the experience with the Vernier system application for various activities supporting science teaching is summarized.
