Non-profit organizations are an indispensable part of the economy, but they often face difficulties in securing sufficient financial resources to carry out their activities. The aim of the paper is therefore to present crowdfunding as a possible alternative source of funding and to analyse in particular the factors that may increase the likelihood of successful funding through this instrument. Successful financing is understood in terms of reaching the required target financial amount (or exceeding it). Crowdfunding success depends on the willingness of strangers to support the affairs of others. The article demonstrates the motives for supporting campaigns, as well as the influence of the chosen crowdfunding model and other factors regarding campaigns that influence the success of funding. The paper focuses on systematic literature review and other research studies on the subject to fulfil the outputs of the paper. These include: overview analysis of the main approaches and principles of crowdfunding and overview analysis of basic factors that have a positive effect on the success of crowdfunding.
