Die Staatsgrenze zwischen der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und der Tschechischen Republik gehört zu den ältesten Staatsgrenzen auf dem europäischen Kontinent. In diesem Fachartikel wird auf die an der Grenze oder in deren Nähe erhaltenen Vermessungsdenkmale sowie auf deren aktuellen Zustand eingegangen. Hierbei wird auf die vermessungstechnischen Arbeiten und insbesondere auf historische Grenzzeichen (Steine) und in einem der nächsten VDVmagazine auf trigonometrische Punkte (TP¸ tschechisch: trigonometrický bod – TB) im Zusammenhang mit der europäischen Gradmessung verwiesen.

The national border between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Czech Republic is one of the oldest national borders on the European continent. This technical article discusses the surveying monuments preserved at or near the border and their current condition. It refers to the surveying work and, in particular, to historical boundary markers (stones) and, in one of the next VDVmagazines, to trigonometric points (TP, Czech: trigonometrický bod – TB) in connection with European degree measurement.
