    The main goal of this paper is to analyze the current system of suggestions in a big sized engineering company and propose some possibilities that would make the current system more effective. For this purpose, the internal documents were studied and interviews with the quality manager were conducted. The main shortcomings of the system are almost zero support from management and lack of knowledge about the system among the employees. Other shortcomings are the insufficient motivation of employees and low awareness about current events in the system of suggestions. To remove the first two deficiencies is suggested a training that emphasizes the benefits of a well-functioning system of suggestions. After the training should follow workshop that would teach employees and their managers to cooperate and allow them to experience the process of innovation in practice. To increase the motivation of employees is suggested the fairer distribution of rewards for innovation activities. Authors of suggestions should get a proportionally higher reward, which derives from the benefits of implementing their suggestions. As an additional element to motivate employees to create suggestions there is suggested yearly competition in individual innovations. The problem of lack of information within the system of individual innovations can be easily solved by creating boards that will contain the necessary informations. These proposals will start the process of individual innovations within the company and therefore enhance its competitiveness.
