Small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech context show certain specifics. Czech entrepreneurs are not very willing to establish close relationship with other organizations and even less abroad. This study is based on the assumption that one of the reasons for reluctance to establish contacts with foreign partners are the linguistic and cultural differences so as managers of these companies see them. The main objective of the presented study is to learn the approach of senior employees towards cooperation with enterprises in the neighboring foreign region. We focused on their view of cultural and language conflicts in communication. These are small and medium-sized enterprises in the South Bohemian region, which cooperate with local universities in technical degree programs (informatics, logistics, civil and mechanical engineering) and which can potentially increase employment in the labor market and in the Czech-Austrian border regions. We are interested in how the management of these companies see the language readiness and competence of employees in Upper Austria and the Czech Republic and the understanding of the needs of these companies in strategic management.
