    The aim of this study is to examine event tourism as an instrument to increase the competitive edge of service providers in tourist industry. A framework for understanding and creating knowledge about events and tourism is presented, forming the basis which indicates established research themes and concepts and outlines future directions for research. Event management&quot; is a fast-growing professional area in which tourists represent a potential market for planned events and the tourism industry has become a key player. Events extend the overall experience of guests from a particular destination. They provide a kind of novelty, freshness and change, which promotes interest in the destination and attractiveness for visitors. Events also play important roles, from community building to urban renewal, cultural development to the promotion of national identities. They are important motivators of tourism and significantly reflect the development and marketing plan of most destinations. The role and impact of planned events in tourism is well known and is increasingly important for the competitiveness of destinations. The research focuses on tourism as diverse sector, affecting a wide range of economic activities and social segments. Possible &quot;domino effect&quot; could have a significant positive or negative impact on sustainable development, both locally and globally. An integral part of the examination will be evaluation of modern trends in tourist services, as well as assessment of legislation impact relating to the event organization. This study employs &quot;Quantitative content analysis&quot; which also includes &quot;Trend and Comparative Analysis&quot;. Comparison target changes and development tendencies over a period of five years. The aim is to cover all contexts that may have an impact on the investigated phenomenon. The qualitative part analyzes in detail event management in frequently and sporadically visited tourist areas, using the method of &quot;Unstructured Observation&quot; and interviews. For that reason, were created &quot;Case Studies&quot; capturing the real state of affairs. In this study extended review of current pandemic turmoil situation on tourism industry is going to be reviled and thoroughly analyzed. Research findings expect to obtain important data, which will serve as an effective tool for the private sector as well as government, managers and other executives who are directly or indirectly affected by event management.
