Impact of English Language Knowledge on French Language Learning in the Ministry of Defense in the Czech Republic: Necessity and Motivation Strategies for Learners
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of this study is to analyse the impact of English language acquisition on the process of learning French, with a focus on motivational factors that have so far been largely overlooked. The findings of this analysis offer valuable insights into language interaction and student motivation, thereby contributing to a deeper understanding of students’ motivational dynamics and enabling more effective pedagogical strategies. The study demonstrates that knowledge of English has a positive and significant influence on the acquisition of French. One of the main obstacles in this language interaction lies in the marked differences between the phonetic structures of the two languages. In response to the growing demand for language education, the University of Defence has introduced innovative programmes that support not only language competencies but also student motivation. Understanding motivation is crucial for student success and perseverance. The offers concrete strategies and guidance aimed at enhancing learners’ internal motivation to study French and contributes to the improvement of language teaching methodologies.
