The article deals with a problem of e-learning in the field of the foreign language training of the academic staff considering the Ukrainian and Czech practices. The investigation is based upon the analyses of the policies on in this field and experiences of ICT implementation in Ukraine and in the Czech Republic. The authors dwell upon main scenarios of e-learning in the foreign language teaching for academic purposes - distance learning, blended learning and ICT-enhanced learning ? in the countries under consideration. It allows to draw out a set of principles for elaborating a unified model aimed at providing solutions for the language training of the academic staff by means of e-learning.
