Focused on the future: Competence 4.0 project for the automotive industry

The paper generally focuses on Industry 4.0, which refers to the current trend of digitization of industry, which aims to automate and digitize production processes, including changes in the labor market. The authors focused in more detail on the search for a new paradigm associated with the revolutionary changes that the automotive industry is undergoing in this context, which is a decisive link of the Czech economy, where about 3% of employees make up to 10% of the Czech GDP. The authors analyze the issues associated with the preparation of completely new professional competencies for the professions of employees in this industrial sector associated with automation and digitization. Basic information about the Competence 4.0 project, which opens the way to education in the digital age, is presented here. These are fundamental changes in the educational system at the level of subject areas, secondary and higher education, in close cooperation with manufacturing companies. Selected examples from the practice of companies and schools are also presented here.
