The problem of the quality of education on all levels is discussed not only due to its high importance but also because there are many different measures and approaches.The analysis is based on a survey which investigates the appreciation of different subject by the students from the centers of distance studies of the CULS.The most important in the investigation are the student´s views on the contribution of subjects for themselves, their motivation for study atc. We compare the results of the studentsfrom the centers of distance studies and regular students and have not found really remarkable differences. The good results of students from the centers of distance studies can be explained by more intensive motivation which implies more intensive and more responsible preparation for exams.The analysis of categorical data includes frequency distribution and calculations of descriptive characteristics.The statistical analysis contained also single sample test and correlation coefficients
