Within a bachelor study programs re-accreditation at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Czech University of Agriculture Prague, since the current study year the volume of contact teaching in full-time study was reduced. In particular, the exercises of most subjects were shortened by half. At the same time, the teachers of the course of Mathematical Methods in Economics II modified the course content to be not so much theoretical, but more interesting for students, and more practically focused. Before the implementation of these changes there were general fears that the lack of the contact teaching would make the study results in this course worse. However, we show that the students, who were taught according to this modified plan, reached significantly better results at the exam than the students a year before, who were taught with the original exercise extent.
