The paper deals with the research in the area of pedagogy and financial literacy whose target group of respondent are young people, in particular students of economics oriented university in the CR. The topic of the paper is the identification of weak spots of the researched cohort of students in order to enrich university courses. The teaching of financial knowledge is an area which from the point of view of the development and young people?s socioeconomic assertion belongs among key and at the same time weak spots in the present-day global society. A questionnaire on financial literacy distinguishing between general questions about respondents? habits and knowledge-based questions was used for data collection. The obtained data were statistically analysed using contingency tables and ?2 test. The interpretation of the results was used in real teaching.
