Název v původním jazyce
Perfluoroalkylated substances in Czech freshwater fish
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The occurrence of organic fluorine compounds in human blood was reported for the first time in 1968. In the mid of 90th the presence of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) in human tissues was confirmed. Since that time many scientists started to draw attention to fluorinated substances, particularly perfluoroalkylated hydrocarbons derived from perfluorooctane. This was mainly possible due to the developments in analytical techniques which enabled complex of even trace amounts of these chemicals occurring inhuman environment. Nowadays, perfluoroctane sulfonate (PFOS), perfluorooctane sulfonamide (PFOSA) and PFOA are the most important studied representatives. Based on recent studies, PFOS and PFOA have been detected all around the globe, both in abiotic andin biotic environmental compartments. These findings had great consequences for the chemical industry. The 3M Company, a major manufacturer of sulfonyl-based perfluoro-compounds, announced the phase-out of this production from December 2
