Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The work is focused on detailed characterization and representation of fatty acids in sebum of adults and children. Several functional derivatives have been prepared by sapienic acid esterification: sapienic acid esters of fatty alcohols, sapienic acid glyceryl ester and disapienoyl phosphatidylcholine. The prepared substances were tested for their antimicrobial activity against microorganisms present on human skin (Staphylococcus epidermidis), potential pathogens of human skin (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, Aspergilus niger) and microorganisms associated with various skin diseases (Propionibacterium acnes, Malassezia furfur). Sapienic acid acted relatively well against all microorganisms, with lower inhibitory activity against gram-negative batteries. Sapienic acid glyceryl ester and disapianoyl phosphatidylcholine showed high potency against Pr. acnes and C. albicans, low potency against gram-positive bacteria, and minimal inhibitory activity against gram-negative bacteria. Sapienic esters of C12:0 - C20:0 alcohols had moderate activity against Pr. acnes and C. albicans, low potency against gram-positive bacteria, and minimal inhibitory activity against gram-negative bacteria. The antimicrobial effect of the test compounds is related to their polarity and cell wall composition of selected microorganisms.
