Als altgläubig erzogener Tiroler ging Caspar Goldwurm als junger Mann nach Wittenberg, um dort direkt bei Martin Luther studieren zu können. Er wurde dann bedeutend, als er als lutheranischer Theologe die Kirche in Hessen-Mansfeld reformierte. In dieserEigenschaft verfasste eine Reihe von Schriften, in denen er immer wieder auf die Bibel zurückgreift. Ganz in lutheranischer Tradition verwendet er die Übersetzung Luthers wörtlich in den Predigten, während er in seinen narrativen Texten den biblischen Wortlaut der Erzählintention anpasst.

As a Tyrolean having been brought up in an orthodox way, Caspar Goldwurm went as a young man to Wittenberg so as to be able to study by Martin Luther. As a Lutheran theologian, he became eminent after the church in Hessen-Mansfeld had been reformed by him. During this post, he wrote several works drawing on the Bible. In the very Lutheran tradition, he used Luther?s translation in his homilies, whereas in his narrative texts, the biblical wording was adapted to the ideas of the stories.
