Die Arbeit mit digitalen Daten und empirischen Methoden hat die Möglichkeiten intersubjektiv nachprüfbarer Forschung und Theoriebildung in der Linguistik wie in kaum einer anderen geisteswissenschaftlichen Disziplin verändert. Der Linguistik steht heute eine beeindruckende Anzahl hochwertiger Korpusressourcen zur Verfügung, um Fragestellungen ausgehend vom tatsächlichen Sprachgebrauch in gesprochener und geschriebener Sprache zu bearbeiten und Hypothesen datengestützt zu überprüfen. Dabei ergeben sich vielfältige Vernetzungen zu den Nachbardisziplinen Computerlinguistik und Sprachtechnologie und zum Programm der Digital Humanities. Dieser Band bietet Einblicke in Grundlagenfragen, aktuelle Forschungsarbeiten und Entwicklungen im Bereich der korpusgestützten Sprachanalyse - von den theoretischen Grundlagen über die Beschreibung einzelner Korpora und Werkzeuge bis hin zu korpusgestützten Fallstudien und zum Einsatz von Korpora in Lehre und Unterricht. Die 25 Beiträge reflektieren den Stand der gegenwärtigen Forschung und sind nicht nur für Expertinnen und Experten, sondern auch für fortgeschrittene Studierende der Linguistik mit einschlägigem fachlichen Interesse verständlich.

Working with digital data and empirical methods has changed the possibilities of intersubjectively verifiable research and theory building in linguistics like no other humanities discipline. Today, linguistics has an impressive number of high-quality corpus resources available to address questions based on actual language use in spoken and written language and to test hypotheses based on data. This results in a variety of connections to the neighboring disciplines of computational linguistics and language technology and to the Digital Humanities program. This volume offers insights into fundamental questions, current research work and developments in the field of corpus-based language analysis - from the theoretical foundations to the description of individual corpora and tools to corpus-based case studies and the use of corpora in teaching and teaching. The 25 contributions reflect the state of current research and are understandable not only for experts, but also for advanced linguistics students with relevant professional interests.
